LinkWater Projects is a government-owned and incorporated company established as a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to design and construct bulk water pipeline projects. The Southern Regional Water Pipeline Company has been trading as LinkWater Projects since 2006. The Queensland Bulk Water Transport Authority, trading as LinkWater, is responsible for the management, operation and maintenance of the potable bulk water pipelines throughout South East Queensland (SEQ). Council-owned water infrastructure was transferred to LinkWater on 1 July 2008. Operation from that date began under a new pricing policy and market rules set by the Queensland Water Commission.
